Traveling all the way from the Upper East Region to Accra has always felt like an endless punishment for residents. Spending eleven hours on bumpy roads just to catch a flight or conduct business drains both energy and money. People are truly tired of enduring these long travel bottlenecks.

President John Dramani Mahama recently toured the proposed project site and brought exciting news that changes everything. Physical construction of the Bolgatanga Airport will officially kick off before this year closes. Public procurement processes are currently moving fast to ensure contractors get on site very soon.

Local traditional authorities graciously donated four thousand acres of land to make this grand vision a reality. The modern facility will feature a massive runway and an air traffic control tower to handle commercial flights safely. Officials confirmed that everything is built to expand quickly as passenger numbers grow over time.

Beyond passenger travel, this upcoming aviation hub will completely transform local business operations across the entire region. Gold mining companies currently face heavy logistical challenges moving valuable minerals down south. Direct flights will make freight transport smooth and secure for everyone involved.
