Tension has gripped the Ellembelle District as unknown individuals suspected to be Chinese investors reportedly entered the Adamus Resources Limited mining concession at Salman.
This dramatic turn of events unfolded less than twenty four hours after Lands and Natural Resources Minister Emmanuel Armah Kofi Buah officially upheld the revocation of the company mining leases.
Reports indicate that the visitors arrived at the disputed location shortly after the Ministry announced that the Minerals Commission would assume direct administrative control over the area.
Eyewitnesses noted that the visitors signed in at the operational compound claiming they represented the World Gold Council, although doubts remain regarding whether they possess official state clearance.
Company leadership responded with extreme anger, describing the lease revocation as an illegal and fabricated attempt by the Ministry to seize their legitimate properties without following due process.
In an official statement accusing the sector minister of abusing executive powers, Adamus warned that they would use every legal avenue available to overturn the decision in court.
The government defended the aggressive takeover by pointing out that a special review committee uncovered massive regulatory violations and unpaid royalties owed to the state.
While state security operatives step in to protect the facility and local jobs during the transition, citizens across the country are watching closely to see how this high stakes legal battle unfolds.
