Education Minister Haruna Iddrisu has inducted the Vice Chancellor of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Prof. Christian Agyare, as Chair of the Technology and Consultancy Centre. The ceremony followed a key meeting in Accra to align university leadership with national development.
The Education Minister emphasized that Ghana needs more practical technology solutions to drive industrial growth. He urged KNUST to direct resources toward Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). Prof. Agyare assured the ministry that the university is upgrading research laboratories and expanding programs in Artificial Intelligence, TVET, and emerging technologies.
Beyond technological transformation, the discussions focused on urgent campus welfare issues. Government pledged backing through GETFund to finalize the KNUST Teaching Hospital project. The new Chair also promised to partner with private hostel developers to keep room rates fair and affordable for students.
