Ghana to Host First International Auto Trade Fair in November

Ghana is set to host its first international auto trade fair and exhibition this November as part of efforts to strengthen the country’s automotive industry, attract investment, and position itself as a leading vehicle manufacturing and trade hub in West Africa.

The event, known as the Ghana International Auto Trade Fair and Exhibition (GATFE 26), is being organized by Resonate Ghana with support from the Office of Diaspora Affairs and Black Star Experience at the Presidency.

Scheduled to take place from November 24 to November 28, 2026, at Black Star Square in Accra, the five-day exhibition is expected to bring together local and international players across the automotive value chain.

Event aims to strengthen Ghana’s automotive industry

Organisers say the inaugural fair is designed to support industrialisation, encourage innovation, create employment opportunities, and promote skills development within Ghana’s growing automotive sector.

The exhibition will provide a platform for manufacturers, distributors, investors, policymakers, technology companies, financial institutions, and service providers to showcase products, exchange ideas, and explore new business opportunities.

According to the organisers, the event is expected to help position Ghana as a regional automotive hub while expanding export opportunities and strengthening trade relationships across West Africa.

Industry stakeholders to participate

The fair will bring together a broad range of participants from Ghana’s automotive ecosystem.

Expected participants include spare parts dealers, vehicle importers, automobile manufacturers, auto mechanics, logistics companies, insurers, financial institutions, regulators, policymakers, and technology providers.

The organisers believe bringing these stakeholders together under one platform will encourage collaboration, facilitate business partnerships, and support long term growth within the sector.

The exhibition will also provide networking opportunities for international companies seeking to enter the Ghanaian market or expand their operations in the region.

Call for partnerships and sponsorship

Speaking ahead of the event, the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Resonate Ghana, Madam Theodorah M. Wuni, appealed to government agencies, development partners, sponsors, and private sector organisations to support the initiative.

She described the exhibition as a landmark event with the potential to transform Ghana’s automotive landscape through investment, innovation, and stronger industry collaboration.

According to Madam Wuni, support from partners will help ensure the successful organisation of the fair while creating lasting economic benefits for the country.

She noted that organisations participating in the exhibition would receive significant visibility, direct engagement with industry stakeholders, and access to new business opportunities.

“In return, partners will gain high value visibility, market access, brand positioning and direct engagement with a targeted audience,” she said.

Economic benefits expected

Organisers expect the exhibition to contribute to Ghana’s economic development by attracting investment into vehicle manufacturing, assembly, automotive technology, and related services.

The event is also expected to encourage knowledge sharing, technology transfer, and the development of local skills needed to support the country’s expanding automotive industry.

With governments across West Africa placing greater emphasis on industrialisation and local manufacturing, the organisers believe Ghana has an opportunity to establish itself as a competitive destination for automotive investment.

The exhibition will showcase developments in vehicle technology, mobility solutions, spare parts manufacturing, logistics, and automotive services while creating opportunities for businesses to secure new partnerships.

Positioning Ghana as a regional hub

The Ghana International Auto Trade Fair and Exhibition represents one of the country’s most ambitious efforts to promote the automotive industry on an international stage.

By bringing together businesses, investors, policymakers, and industry experts, the event aims to strengthen Ghana’s position within Africa’s growing automotive market while supporting sustainable economic growth.

If successful, organisers hope the exhibition will become a regular international event that attracts global automotive brands, encourages local manufacturing, and contributes to Ghana’s long term industrial development strategy.
