Kwame Jantuah, a member of the Convention People’s Party (CPP), has cautioned the New Patriotic Party (NPP) against taking its support in the Ashanti Region for granted.
He said the party must work to regain the trust of residents rather than assume that its traditional support in the region will automatically translate into electoral success.
Jantuah’s comments highlight the importance of public confidence, accountability and consistent engagement with voters in maintaining political support.
He also expressed concern about the growing focus on political scandals and attacks against opponents in Ghana.
According to him, the tendency of political actors to concentrate on damaging their opponents’ reputations can distract from issues that directly affect citizens and the country’s development.
Jantuah’s remarks raise questions about the role of political accountability and the need for public debate to focus on policies, governance and national progress.
In a separate comment on the Tema Oil Refinery (TOR), he said Dr Kwame Nkrumah would be pleased to see the facility restored to profitability and operational strength.
The remark points to the significance of TOR in Ghana’s industrial development and the importance of efforts to improve its operations and financial performance.
The three comments touch on political trust, the quality of political discourse and the role of state-owned industrial facilities in Ghana’s development.
