Mubarick Masawudu who serves as Deputy Director General of the Ghana Maritime Authority recently dropped some exciting updates. During a major workshop at MPS Terminal 3, he stressed the urgent need for a Maritime Single Window. This electronic system will smooth out information exchange and make business transactions much faster for everyone.
The Authority plans to pursue proper legislative backing to make this digital rollout fully successful. Bringing electronic processes into the maritime sector aligns our ports nicely with international standards. Nobody wants to stay behind while global trade moves at high speed.
Director of Tema Port Tebon Zumah also highlighted the smart shift toward green energy and better efficiency. He wants port players to embrace just in time sailing measures across all terminals in Tema and Takoradi. Speed and precision will keep local businesses competitive in the global market.
Key stakeholders like the Ghana Revenue Authority Customs Division, Port Health, and immigration services attended the productive workshop. They tackled stubborn bottlenecks involving berth allocation, vessel arrivals, and customs clearance. Fixing these operational gaps means traders can clear their goods without losing their precious time and money.
