Drama unfolded at Mim Senior High School in the Ahafo Region when a security guard popularly called Obonto ran into serious trouble. Reports indicate that he allegedly blackmailed a female student after catching her sneaking out of the school compound. Instead of reporting the breach to school authorities according to protocol, he tried using the situation to exploit the young lady.
The smart Mim student refused to panic or fall completely for his wicked tricks. She quickly alerted some trusted male friends outside who wasted no time storming his residence to verify things. Confronted by angry youth, the embattled guard found himself caught pants down in a very tight corner.
School security personnel exist primarily to protect students rather than prey on their vulnerable moments. Incidents like this remind authorities why background checks and proper supervision remain critical in all second cycle institutions. Local law enforcement is expected to handle the matter so that justice serves as a strong deterrent to others.
