Mr Eazi has opened up about grief, success, music and his love for Ghana during a lively Twitch stream with MadeInGhana. The conversation moved from his university days in Kumasi to his friendship with Shatta Wale and his latest single, Comfort.

However, one of the biggest moments came when he spoke about losing his mother last year. Mr Eazi explained that the experience changed how he sees life and music. He said there was a time when he did not even want to hear his own songs or watch his videos. Now, he feels more grateful for what he has and what he has experienced. As a result, he wants his music to carry more meaning. The stream also showed his playful side. During their drive, the pair met people dancing on the street, and Mr Eazi joined them. He praised Kumasi as a chilled but energetic city and described KNUST as the best university in the world, sharing his personal view. Although he is Nigerian, he said Ghana has shown him plenty of love. He also gave a shout out to Andre Ayew and recalled supporting Ghana during the World Cup.

Mr Eazi Explains His Love for Ghanaian Music

Mr Eazi shared stories about his early music journey and the producers who helped him get started. He named Kwame Keys, a gospel producer from Kumasi, as the first producer to record him. He also mentioned Slimbo, Peweee and Kabum, who recorded in Bantuma. When the conversation turned to Akwaaba, he explained why he featured Patapaa. Mr Eazi said he saw talent in him when others thought he was only a passing trend. He also revealed that Joey B wrote his song Patek and described Kwesi Arthur as his brother. His love for Ghanaian music goes back years. He recalled hearing highlife while travelling between Accra and Kumasi. He also spoke about his first conversation with MOLIY in August 2016. She reportedly messaged him and suggested they meet because they could make beautiful music together. Meanwhile, his friendship with Shatta Wale also came up. Mr Eazi called him his president and said they had been friends since around 2017. He explained that Shatta had performed at his shows for free, even though he pays other artistes. That friendship, he said, was one reason he stayed up to support Shatta during his own show. The two also joked about films such as Game of Thrones and Kuna the Destroyer. Mr Eazi even described himself as a calm gangster.

Mr Eazi Wants Success to Mean More Than Fame

Beyond the jokes, the stream carried a serious message about success. Mr Eazi said his idea of achievement has changed over time. In the past, he wanted to succeed in Ghana and then expand across Africa. Now, he believes the real goal is to make an impact. He gave this explanation while discussing the work of his foundation. Mr Eazi said it had paid for chemotherapy for more than 150 people in Nigeria that year. He and MadeInGhana also stopped at Achimota Mall to support breast cancer awareness activities. In addition, Mr Eazi said he wants to document his journey. He drew inspiration from artistes such as Shatta Wale and Bob Marley, whose videos help preserve their stories. He also spoke about creating special memories for his niece. After seeing her dance to a Shenseea song, he thought about performing for her birthday rather than having her ask him to bring the artiste. His advice to young people was simple: stay grateful and do not become too comfortable with success. He also encouraged MadeInGhana to keep pushing.

Mr Eazi Challenges MTN and Other Networks to Support Streamers

The conversation also highlighted the cost of streaming in Ghana. MadeinGhana said he uses MTN for internet access and a Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra for his streaming. Mr Eazi encouraged MTN and other network providers to consider partnerships with streamers. According to him, creators need support to grow their audiences and produce better content. He even joked that he could help arrange a deal and take his percentage. He also made it clear that he does not have a lifetime deal with any company. MadeInGhana jokingly suggested that he should sign one with him. The pair discussed Twitch formats such as IRL and Just Chatting. MadeinGhana estimated that he could spend about GH₵2,000 a month on data alone. He sometimes rents equipment to support his streams, too. MadeInGhana said he needs investment and better equipment, including a Sony FX3 camera and a suitable lens. They also discussed the supporter who helped MadeInGhana during Kai Cenat’s Japan stream. Mr Eazi suggested that they should stream together. MadeInGhana clarified that he did not know the man personally and later searched for him. He added that Ghanaians and Nigerians make up much of his audience. Both creators stressed the need for investment and better opportunities for young talent.

Comfort, Choplife and New Plans for Ghana

The stream ended with conversations about business, relationships and new music. Mr Eazi discussed plans to bring a Choplife Studio project to Ghana, following a similar project in Nigeria. He also said nationality does not determine whether someone can work with him. For him, talent and the value a person brings matter most. MadeinGhana mentioned emerging artistes such as Kayflip, Milona, Gonaboy, Manamepee and Alorg. The pair also discussed their relationship with King Promise, possible joint performances and Mr Eazi’s support for Barcelona ahead of the next El Clásico. They joked about MadeInGhana using one of his songs, possibly the track featuring Lord Paper, to take someone’s girlfriend. Mr Eazi said most artistes who perform at his shows receive payment, although Joey B and Shatta Wale have performed for free. He also said MadeInGhana is now part of his team. Other topics included his possible trip to Côte d’Ivoire, a party stop in Dubai and his dislike of wearing chains. He joked that he had never made bad music. Before signing off, he confirmed that Comfort was out and promised more music, saying he planned to release songs every month. He also mentioned that Detty Rave was coming in December. For fans, the conversation offered more than entertainment. It showed an artiste reflecting on loss, appreciating Ghana’s support and looking for ways to create a lasting impact.
