Big changes are happening in Ghana’s tech space as the National Information Technology Agency welcomes fresh leadership. The government officially named Anthony Owusu-Ansah as the new Acting Deputy Director-General to help push our digital transformation agenda forward.
Everybody knows him as the brilliant founder of ShaQ Express, an indigenous logistics firm that uses tech to solve everyday delivery problems across the country. Bringing a private sector champion into public service is a smart move that gives many citizens high hopes for better digital governance.
Before taking up this national assignment, he built an impressive corporate record with top brands like Vodafone Ghana, AirtelTigo, Nestle Ghana, and Enterprise Group. His solid background in business development, sales, and management shows he understands how to make systems work efficiently. Academically, he graduated with a physics degree and an MBA from Kwame Routledge or rather KNUST, plus leadership training from Harvard Business School Online. This mix of rigorous science training and sharp business acumen makes him exceptionally qualified for the demanding NITA office.
Industry players believe his deep experience in digital entrepreneurship will transform how public services operate online. NITA has the heavy mandate of setting IT standards, regulating sector activities, and expanding digital inclusion across all sixteen regions. With his proven track record of building tech startups from scratch, he brings practical solutions rather than empty talk to the table. Ghanaians are eager to see how his private sector discipline will streamline government digital platforms and make online services smoother for everyone.
