The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has appointed lawyer Lawrence Kwesi Botchway Jnr. as its Deputy National Communications Director.
The appointment, reported on Monday, October 26, 2026, will see Botchway work alongside the party’s National Communications Director, Dennis Edward Miracles Aboagye, to strengthen the NPP’s communication activities.
According to reports, Botchway brings legal and public affairs experience to the position as the party continues to organise its communication structures.
Botchway to Support NPP Communications
In his new role, Botchway is expected to support the party’s efforts to communicate its policies, explain its positions on national issues and engage with the media and the Ghanaian public.
His appointment comes after the NPP elected new national executives at its national delegates conference in Kumasi earlier in October.
Miracles Aboagye was elected National Communications Director unopposed as part of the party’s new leadership team.
The NPP has also introduced changes to its organisational structure, including provisions for deputy communications positions.
Previous Public Affairs Involvement
Botchway has previously participated in public-interest matters. One reported example was a petition to President John Dramani Mahama seeking a commission of inquiry into violence associated with the Ablekuma North parliamentary election rerun in July 2025.
His appointment adds another legal practitioner to the party’s national communications team as it works to improve its public messaging and media engagement.
The development forms part of the NPP’s ongoing organisational preparations following the 2024 general elections.
