Political tension and excitement are building up nicely as party members prepare for a major exercise. The New Patriotic Party in the Upper West Region is getting ready to elect brand new regional executives. About two hundred and sixty delegates will gather to cast their ballots and shape the future of the party.
Everything will unfold at the Wa Technical Institute on Saturday, August 15, 2026. Voting will open early in the morning at 8 a.m. and close sharply by 2 p.m. Delegates from all eleven constituencies in the region will storm the venue to make their voices heard.
Party leaders have confirmed that all logistical preparations are fully completed ahead of the big day. The police are safely keeping secure ballot papers to guarantee total transparency. Isaac Halitu, serving as the Regional Representative for the elections, noted that organisers have put adequate measures in place.
Security will remain tight as about thirty police officers take positions at the venue to maintain law and order. Mr Halitu expressed strong confidence that the entire exercise will remain completely peaceful from start to finish. Contestants and delegates have not raised any major complaints so far, showing great unity.
The polls will decide winners for crucial leadership positions like regional chairman, vice chairpersons, secretary, organiser, and treasurer. Enthusiastic delegates will also choose competent leaders for the youth, women, and Nasara wings. This major internal reorganisation aims to strengthen party structures across the entire region.
