The popular legal battle over the controversial social media page took a massive turn today in court. High profile legal arguments finally settled as the judge made a firm decision on the liberty of the accused nurse.

Chale, the whole country has been tracking this legal drama with keen interest since the police started their investigation. Family members and supporters can now breathe a small sigh of relief as court proceedings continue.

The Adenta Circuit Court has officially granted bail to 40-year-old Senior Nursing Officer Salomey Awity Bafoh. The court set her bail condition at GH¢100,000 with two sureties to be justified.

This ruling comes after intense legal representation from her counsel who consistently pushed for her release. The accused person had pleaded not guilty to the charge of abetment of crime linked to the publication of false news.

Salomey Awity Bafoh was picked up by state security over her alleged involvement with content published by the “Ghana Jollof” account. Police investigators claimed the account published false reports targeting notable public figures and running financial transactions.

While investigators initially argued that releasing her on bail could compromise digital evidence, her legal team mounted a strong defense. They highlighted her official status as a health worker and mother facing extended separation from her young children.

Following the successful bail application, the presiding judge officially adjourned the matter to February 17, 2027. The long adjournment gives both the prosecution and defense teams enough time to organize their evidence properly.

The main figure behind the page, Barbara Asantewaa Koduah, remains the target of a police manhunt as security agencies widen their search. Legal observers across Ghana are watching closely to see how the state presents its full arguments when court reconvenes.
