Residents and business owners across parts of Accra East are preparing for temporary lights out as the Electricity Company of Ghana starts a four day scheduled maintenance exercise.

The maintenance operation begins today, Monday, August 10, and will run through Thursday, August 13, 2026. Power supply will go off between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm each day in the affected zones.

ECG management explained that the planned maintenance works form part of routine technical upgrades aimed at strengthening grid reliability and improving service delivery for customers.

On Monday, August 10, the interruption will affect customers living around Teiman, Oyarifa, Mr Smith, parts of Ogbodjo, Tsmasiwaa Hospital, Ability, and surrounding neighborhoods.

On Tuesday, August 11, the power outage will move to Ashiyie, parts of Dodowa, Tobinco, Oasis Estate, Manet Junction, and adjoining communities during the same timeframe.

On Wednesday, August 12, technicians will carry out works affecting parts of Labone, Agbogba Zongo, Adenta SDA, Tot to teen School, Top Herbal Clinic, parts of Madina, and Libya Quarters.

The final phase on Thursday, August 13, will impact Achimota School and surrounding areas from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

The utility company has urged all affected customers to plan their daily activities and protect sensitive electrical appliances before the daily power cuts begin.

ECG has also apologized to the public for the temporary inconvenience, reassuring consumers that the maintenance works will deliver a far more stable power supply once completed.
