The Ghana Police Service has arrested three suspects in connection with the alleged murder of a 34-year-old mobile money (MoMo) vendor, Christian Amponsah, at Kasoa Second in the Central Region.
The suspects are 59-year-old Felicia Osei Appiah, 24-year-old Clement Opoku Yeboah and a female juvenile whose identity has not been disclosed.
According to the Central East Regional Police Command, the arrests were made on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, as investigations into the killing continued.
How the Incident Was Discovered
Police said the case came to light after the manager of a guest house reported that two people who had booked a room for two hours had failed to check out after the booking period expired.
The manager reportedly went to check on the room and discovered Amponsah lying motionless in a pool of blood.
Officers who arrived at the scene found the deceased lying face down, with bedsheets, curtains and pillows covering his body.
The body was subsequently conveyed to the Police Hospital mortuary in Accra for preservation and an autopsy to establish the cause of death.
Three Suspects in Police Custody
The three suspects are currently in police custody and assisting investigators with inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the death.
The police have not publicly established the specific roles allegedly played by each suspect. Investigations are ongoing to determine what happened and establish the circumstances that led to the vendor’s death.
The Central East Regional Police Command said steps were being taken to put the suspects before court after investigations are completed.
The command also expressed appreciation to members of the public and other stakeholders whose information helped the police apprehend the suspects.
Police Continue Investigations
The arrest of the three suspects marks a development in the investigation into the death of the Kasoa-based mobile money vendor.
Authorities are expected to rely on further investigations and the autopsy findings to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The case remains under investigation, and the suspects are presumed innocent unless proven guilty by a court of law.
