The West African Examinations Council has officially released provisional results for candidates who wrote the 2026 Basic Education Certificate Examination for private candidates. Candidates across the country can now check their performance directly on the official online portal.
A total of 2,987 candidates registered for the private sitting, including 1,618 males and 1,369 females. Examinations took place across designated regional centers, with official records indicating that 101 registered candidates missed the exams.
However, nine candidates face uncertainty as WAEC withheld their results following suspected collusion detected during script marking. Affected students must visit the council’s online irregularities platform to review why officers flagged their papers and receive instructions on the next steps.
Head of Public Affairs John K. Kapi expressed deep appreciation to stakeholders whose efforts ensured smooth examination delivery nationwide. Council authorities continue to advise candidates to rely strictly on official portals and avoid fraudsters making fake result upgrade promises.
