Newly appointed Majority Leader in Parliament, James Agalga, has firmly declared that no colleague in the House can intimidate or bully him as he steps up to lead the Majority Caucus.
Speaking in an exclusive interview on Eyewitness News, the lawmaker representing Builsa North addressed questions regarding his capacity to direct government legislative strategy. He noted that his extensive tenure in the chamber has fully prepared him to navigate the high-stakes politics of parliamentary business.
Highlighting his legislative credentials, Agalga pointed to his long service as a Ranking Member for eight years, along with his current position as Chairman of the Defence and Interior Committee. He emphasized that these positions demonstrate clear leadership experience within Parliament.
Reflecting on his new mandate, Agalga stressed that the quality of his leadership will ultimately speak for itself over time, noting that the end will justify the means. He pledged to work tirelessly for the country and expressed deep gratitude to President John Dramani Mahama and the National Democratic Congress leadership for placing their trust in him.
The leadership transition follows President Mahama’s nomination of former Majority Leader Mahama Ayariga as Minister-designate for Local Government, Chieftaincy, and Religious Affairs, paving the way for Agalga to take charge of the Majority Caucus.
