Private security guards and state law enforcement personnel struggled to contain a large crowd of angry party demonstrators chanting Ken Must Go near the Alisa Hotel premises, bringing local traffic to a complete standstill.
The sudden public street disorder stems directly from deep operational grievances and disciplinary reviews handled by the party’s highest decision-making bodies.
Logic dictates that when a highly influential former presidential aspirant openly threatens to expose hidden dirty secrets, party leaders will definitely not sit back and cross their arms. The angry street protests unfolded right after a crucial Steering Committee meeting gathered to consider serious petitions filed against the former Assin Central Member of Parliament, Kennedy Agyapong.
The firebrand politician recently sparked furious internal anger after publicly blasting his own party for failing to finish and open the Afari Military Hospital despite being in government for years. To make matters worse, Kennedy Agyapong warned that he would spill the beans on deep internal wrongdoings if anyone tried to push him into a corner.
While no immediate injuries or arrests were reported at the hotel gates, party executives spent the evening discussing plans to refer his controversial statements to the national disciplinary committee for a thorough investigation.
Hoping to build a totally united, victorious political machine while letting top members threaten to burn down the house on public radio is an absolute logical failure.
While holding government officials accountable for slow infrastructure projects like the Afari Hospital is a good thing, throwing wild tantrums and blackmailing your own party structures completely ruins grassroots trust.
True political progress relies on rules, mature dialogue, and respect for internal systems. By standing firm against street intimidation and pushing the case through proper disciplinary channels, the national leadership is using straight logic to show that the party’s collective future will always be more important than any single individual’s loud opinions.
