UPSA 18th Congregation: 1,275 Graduate in First Session

The University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) has officially graduated 1,275 students during the first session of its 18th Congregation. The ceremony celebrated postgraduates from the School of Graduate Studies and pioneering legal scholars from the UPSA Law School.

Held at the Kofi Ohene-Konadu Auditorium, the event highlighted academic achievement, institutional integrity, and new infrastructure expansions.

Speaking at the graduation ceremony, Vice-Chancellor Professor Kwaku Mensah Mawutor detailed major developments, including expanding university land at Ogbojo to 18 plots for a smart ICT campus.

Professor Mawutor revealed that university IT teams detected and blocked unauthorized system breaches where individuals attempted to alter student academic records. Management rectified affected results back to their original scores, reaffirming UPSA’s strict zero tolerance for academic fraud.

Guest speaker Dr. Philip Oti-Mensah, Chief Executive Officer of Universal Merchant Bank (UMB), urged the class to differentiate between career learning and earning stages. He advised graduates to focus on value creation, personal character, and dependable professional relationships.

Overall Best Student and Valedictorian Klenam Tsikata praised working students and female scholars who balanced heavy professional duties alongside demanding lectures.

University management encouraged all graduands to apply their knowledge ethically and contribute meaningfully to national development.
