The Premier League has confirmed that an independent Commission has found Manchester City guilty of serious breaches of the league’s financial rules.

The findings cover a nine-season period from 2009/10 to 2017/18. The Commission also upheld most of the charges relating to the club’s failure to cooperate with the Premier League’s investigation.

Manchester City has the right to appeal the findings. The club has until Friday, October 2 to exercise that right.

According to the findings, Manchester City used contracts with some commercial partners that did not accurately reflect the real agreements between the parties.

The Commission also found that the club submitted accounts that did not accurately show its financial position.

The findings further stated that Manchester City breached both the Premier League’s and UEFA’s financial spending limits during the period under investigation.

Failure to Cooperate

The Commission also considered Manchester City’s conduct during the Premier League investigation.

Three of the four alleged breaches relating to the club’s duty to cooperate and act in good faith were upheld.
