Traditional leaders of the Awutu Traditional Council made headlines after boycotting a major government event. They flatly refused to attend the sod cutting ceremony for a new market project in their area. People often wonder why local authorities fail to respect traditional rulers before launching public developments.

Boundary Chief Nai Kwabena Atopi explained that municipal officials bypassed traditional leaders completely. Organizers planned to use stool land around the Kasoa area without seeking proper permission or consultation first. Treating traditional custodians with such disregard always creates unnecessary friction and public anger.

The chiefs also raised serious concerns about commercial stores built around the Kasoa Interchange by private developers. They claimed officials used clever words about government agendas to mislead them during earlier talks. Calling respected traditional leaders names like landguards made the whole situation even worse for everyone involved.

Local leaders are now calling on President John Dramani Mahama to step in and solve the growing confusion. They still support national development as long as proper respect and consultation guide the process. Ignoring traditional authorities will only bring more roadblocks to community progress.
