New Patriotic Party (NPP) National Vice Chairman aspirant Richard Ahiagbah has raised concerns about his position as the only Ewe among the 13 aspirants contesting the party’s National Vice Chairperson position.

According to Ahiagbah, if he is voted out of the race, it would raise questions about the party’s approach to representation.

“If I, Ahiagbah, the only Ewe among the 13 aspirants contesting for the National Vice Chairman position, am voted out, then NPP has a problem,” he said.

The NPP’s National Vice Chairperson race has attracted 13 aspirants, making it the most contested position in the party’s 2026 national executive elections.

Ahiagbah, who is also the NPP’s Director of Communications, is contesting alongside figures including Mustapha Abdul-Hamid, Samuel Pyne, Henry Nana Boakye, Kojo Fosu Boadu and Nana Akomea.

The party’s national executive elections are scheduled for October 3, 2026, in Kumasi, where delegates will elect new national officers.
