Another tragic incident on the major road has left families mourning and road users questioning safety standards. A violent crash near Paradise Restaurant along the busy Accra Kumasi highway claimed one life and left fourteen others injured. Reckless driving habits continue to turn ordinary journeys into terrifying nightmares for innocent travelers.
The terrible smash happened on Wednesday August 12 2026 involving a heavy MAN Diesel truck and a commercial Toyota Hiace bus. According to reports the big truck veered straight into the opposite lane while trying to dodge another car that was overtaking improperly. That single reckless maneuver sent the giant truck crashing brutally into the side of the incoming passenger bus.
First responders from the Bunso Fire Station acted swiftly after receiving an emergency call around 7:30 in the evening. A brave six member rescue team rushed to the scene and arrived by 7:46 p.m. to find both vehicles severely mangled. They worked tirelessly to pull trapped victims out and recover personal belongings scattered across the asphalt.
Tragically one female passenger was confirmed dead right at the scene while fourteen other occupants sustained various injuries. Medical teams rushed the hurt passengers to hospitals for urgent treatment while police officers launched full investigations into the disaster. The dedicated fire crew finally cleared the blocked highway lane and wrapped up their operations by 8:46 p.m.
