Solomon Owusu, Director of Communications for the United Party (UP), has claimed that Dr Mahamudu Bawumia cannot win Ghana’s 2028 presidential election.

According to Mr Owusu, the former Vice President will not secure more than 18 per cent of the votes in the next general election.

“Dr. Bawumia can never win an election in Ghana. He won’t secure more than 18% of the 2028 election votes,” Mr Owusu stated.

His comments add to the growing debate over Dr Bawumia’s chances as the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) presidential candidate for the 2028 elections.

Dr Bawumia, who previously served as Vice President of Ghana, is expected to lead the NPP into the next general election as the party seeks to return to power.

However, Mr Owusu’s prediction remains his personal assessment, and the actual level of support Dr Bawumia receives will be determined by voters during the election.

The 2028 general election is expected to attract intense competition as political parties work to convince Ghanaians to support their candidates and policies.
