Traveling along our coastal roads can sometimes test your last remaining nerves. Commuters are tired of wasting long hours in heavy traffic just trying to move between regions. Thankfully the government is finally looking at a smart alternative to rescue travelers.
The Ministry of Transport has officially signed a contract with Vision Consult and KPMG to study the viability of a new coastal water transport service. This special project will run from Keta in the Volta Region all the way down to Axim in the Western Region.
Instead of relying only on congested highways, passengers might soon catch a boat ride along the beautiful coastline. The study will take six months to properly examine all technical requirements and check if the aquatic route makes solid economic sense.
Experts from Vision Consult and KPMG will gather all necessary data and present their professional recommendations to the government. That final report will determine whether the marine transport dream becomes a reality for everyday citizens.
