Dzata Cement Managing Director Ibrahim Mahama has shared the story behind the creation of the Ghanaian-owned cement company.
He said his journey into cement manufacturing started with a simple experience while transporting cement from Takoradi to Tarkwa.
The experience made him curious about how cement was produced.
His curiosity later led him to visit a cement manufacturing plant. The visit gave him a better understanding of the production process.
It also inspired him to consider starting a cement manufacturing business in Ghana.
According to Ibrahim Mahama, that experience became an important turning point in his business journey.
What started as curiosity eventually grew into a clear vision. That vision later led to the establishment of Dzata Cement.
Ibrahim Mahama said his ambitions go beyond Dzata Cement. He wants to explore other business opportunities in the future.
“I am not only challenged to build Dzata Cement; there are other ventures I want to pursue to prove that Ghanaians can build successful businesses ourselves,” he said.
He said his goal is not only to make money. He also wants to show that Ghanaians can build strong and successful businesses.
He believes local entrepreneurs can identify opportunities, invest in different industries and create businesses that can grow.
Ibrahim Mahama also encouraged the idea of taking risks and turning business opportunities into practical ventures.
For him, the story of Dzata Cement shows how a simple experience can lead to a major business idea.
He said he will continue to explore new opportunities as he works to prove that Ghanaians can successfully build businesses themselves.
