Executive Director of Lands & Mines Watch, Kwame Owusu Danso Esq., has called on Finance Minister Dr Cassiel Ato Forson to release funds for development projects in the Western Region.

According to Kwame Owusu Danso, residents in the region should be able to benefit from the country’s economic resources through visible development projects.

“Don’t sit on the money. Release funds for development in the Western Region so the people can also benefit,” he said.

He further cautioned that economic gains must translate into improvements in the daily lives of ordinary Ghanaians.

Kwame Owusu Danso said that from next year, government officials may face increased public scrutiny if Ghanaians do not see the benefits of economic improvements reflected in their communities.

His comments highlight calls for development spending to translate into practical improvements for citizens, particularly in regions contributing significantly to Ghana’s economy.
