President John Dramani Mahama has officially announced his very first major ministerial reshuffle for his second term in office.
The strategic updates appeared in an official press release issued by the Minister of Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, on August 7.
Under the new executive arrangements, Parliament’s Majority Leader, Mahama Ayariga, moves from the legislative front bench as Minister designate for Local Government, Chieftaincy, and Religious Affairs.
Outgoing Local Government Minister Ahmed Ibrahim now transitions to direct affairs at the Ministry of Works, Housing, and Water Resources.
The restructuring also reassigns Kenneth Gilbert Adjei from Works and Housing to serve as the substantive Minister for Defence.
Meanwhile, Korle Klottey lawmaker Dr Zanetor Agyemang Rawlings joins the cabinet as Minister designate for Environment, Science, and Technology.
This executive realignment fills crucial leadership gaps following the tragic helicopter accident that claimed key public officials last year.
Ghanaians now eagerly await parliamentary vetting as these newly designated ministers prepare to drive government policy forward effectively.
