Presidential Staffer Nana Yaa Jantuah has strongly fired back at Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo Markin after he openly criticized her official reception duties at the presidency. The political clash erupted during the New Patriotic Party demonstration dubbed Democracy Under Attack.

The opposition party marched to Jubilee House to submit a petition regarding perceived threats to national democratic governance. However the opposition leadership expressed deep frustration when the government designated only Nana Yaa Jantuah to receive their petition.

Afenyo Markin publicly argued that assigning a single presidential staffer amounted to clear disrespect toward a major political party. The opposition delegation expected Chief of Staff Julius Debrah to receive them and subsequently refused to hand over their document.

Setting the record straight on Asempa FM Nana Yaa Jantuah explained that she acted strictly on direct instructions from President John Dramani Mahama. She clarified that senior officials were attending a solemn memorial service for eight citizens who died in the August 6 2025 helicopter crash.

Taking strong exception to the criticism she declared that she is old enough to be his mother and called him a small boy in her eyes. She emphasized that such public disrespect from the Minority Leader will not stand and announced plans to formally petition Speaker of Parliament Alban Bagbin over the matter.
