Popular Nigerian actress Tonto Dikeh is officially stepping away from normal movie drama and entering into the spiritual realm. She just launched her very own faith based movement called the New Wine Prophetic Tabernacle right in the heart of Abuja. Tonto Dikeh wants everyone to know that she is fully dedicating her current life to serving Christ.
Tonto Dikeh proudly announced this massive change through her official Instagram page on Sunday. She explained clearly that this is not a regular traditional church where you just go and sit down every Sunday. She described it as a serious interdenominational altar for committed believers who are completely hungry for genuine spiritual transformation.
The name of the tabernacle actually comes directly from the Bible specifically Mark chapter two verse twenty two. This talks about putting new wine into new wineskins. For Tonto this represents leaving old bad habits behind and embracing total purity. She wants to create a safe space for intense prayers and raw spiritual power.
This move comes several months after Tonto publicly shared her touching personal testimony at the Streams of Joy International Church. During that particular service she openly confessed how she battled serious addictions including smoking and alcohol since she was thirteen years old. She says her strong faith in Christ finally helped her overcome those heavy burdens completely.
Of course some social media critics are already throwing harsh comments and doubting her sudden change. People are questioning if a former controversial celebrity can truly perform miracles and lead a congregation. But Tonto is ignoring the noise and moving forward strongly. Her new fellowship will hold meetings every single Friday evening at the Omini Grand Hotel in Jabi.
