John Kumah’s death: Arrest Captain Smart and those alleging poisoning now – Asiedu Nketia to Police

The National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia has expressed surprise at the Ghana Police Service for failing to arrest radio and TV presenters alleging that former Member of Parliament (MP) for Ejisu, John Kumah was poisoned to death.

According to him, the police should have been up on their game on this matter as according to him, the claims of these individuals if true shows that the late Law Maker was murdered.

“I am surprised that Ghana Police Service which can arrest people for just speaking against the President is yet to make any arrest over the death of John Kumah especially when some presenters have claimed that he was poisoned…,” he said in an interview on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen which was monitored by GhanaNewsPage.Com.

The NDC Chair added that it is not enough for the police to invite the likes of Captain Smart and Oheneba of Wontumi TV because their allegations are so wild and have a dent on the image of Ghana.

“The police should have by now arrested a lot of people because this is suspected murder…some even showed the address of the hotel but I have not heard that the hotel manager or the person who served them food have been arrested…,” he said.

To him, it is unthink of that the journalists who claimed to have known that he was poisoned for months are still walking free.

“The persons who even leaked the coroner’s inquest should also be arrested as part of the investigations…there is the need to round all of the people who spoke at the studio…,” he opined.

Asiedu Nketia said the failure of the Police to act in this case is laying credence to the suspicion that there is a cover up because of ‘party unity’.
