CCTV Footage Reveals Brazen Daylight Robbery at Adabraka Jewellery Shop

A recent CCTV recording has captured a shocking daylight robbery where an armed gang stormed a jewellery store in Adabraka, Accra, escaping with sacks of cash.

The incident, which took place on November 2, 2024, left the community stunned by the gang’s audacious approach. In the video, several individuals can be seen hurriedly loading sacks, allegedly filled with cash, into a parked saloon car. Moments later, as the car began to move, a 4×4 vehicle cut it off, blocking its path.

Masked gunmen, wielding AK-47s and other firearms, then exited the 4×4 and confronted the driver and a passenger, seizing the sacks of cash from the vehicle. Additional footage shared on social media shows the robbers firing a warning shot and scattering money in the air, seemingly as a tactic to distract bystanders during their getaway.

Following the incident, the Ghana Police Service launched a manhunt for the suspects. In a statement issued on November 2, 2024, the police confirmed that an armed robbery had occurred at a jewellery shop in Adabraka, with at least one person sustaining injuries.

“We are actively pursuing the gang of armed robbers involved in the attack on a jewellery shop in Adabraka, Accra, on Saturday, November 2, 2024, which injured one person,” the statement read. “We assure the public that we will capture those responsible and ensure justice is served.”

Dr. Zanetor Agyeman Rawlings, Member of Parliament for Korle Klottey, also addressed the incident, which occurred within her constituency. She expressed serious concern about the rising number of armed robberies in the area, noting that this was the second attack at the same location within four months.

Dr. Rawlings committed to working with relevant security agencies to implement measures that will protect the community, stating, “I will engage with the Ministry of Interior and National Security regarding these incidents. Ensuring the community’s safety is a top priority.”
