You guys, have you heard the latest news? The long legal battle is finally over for Madam Sedinam Ationu Tamakloe, the former boss of the Microfinance and Small Loans Centre (MASLOC). The Court of Appeal has officially cleared her of all those heavy charges.
Let’s break it down in plain language. You remember all the talk about her supposedly causing financial loss to the state and stealing millions? Well, the court just said “No.”
Why Did the Court Drop the Charges?
It comes down to one simple thing: proof. In our laws, if you take someone to court, you must prove beyond a reasonable doubt that they actually committed the crime.
The Court of Appeal looked at the case and ruled that the prosecution simply failed to bring enough solid evidence to back up their claims. Because the evidence wasn’t strong enough, the court had to acquit and discharge her. This means she is officially a free woman under the law.

What Was the Real Story Before?
Just to recap, during her time as MASLOC CEO, she faced some serious accusations. They charged her with conspiracy, supposedly causing a financial loss of over GH¢90 million to the state, and stealing.
It got very serious in 2024 when a High Court sentenced her to 10 years in prison. But here is the catch—she wasn’t even in the country when that sentence was handed down. She was sentenced in absentia because she had travelled to the US for medical treatment and failed to return for the trial.
The Big Extradition and Final Verdict
Recently, she was extradited back to Ghana to face the music. Most people probably thought she was heading straight to jail to serve that 10-year sentence.
But instead, the Court of Appeal stepped in, reviewed the whole matter, and threw the case out because the prosecution couldn’t properly prove the vital parts of the charges. It’s a massive plot twist in a story that has been dragging on for years!
