Comedian and actor Funny Face, whose real name is Benson Nana Yaw Oduro, has been remanded into police custody by the Ofaakor Circuit Court in the Awutu Senya East District of the Central Region.
Funny Face was arrested on the evening of Sunday, March 24, after being involved in a car accident in Kakraba, Kasoa. The incident resulted in him hitting four individuals: an elderly woman, her two grandchildren, and a motorcyclist.
The comedian appeared before the court on Tuesday, March 26, facing charges of drunk driving and careless driving. He is expected to remain in police custody for two weeks pending his next court appearance.
The accident has had severe consequences for the victims. One individual remains in a coma, while the other three are receiving treatment at the Winneba Trauma Centre.
In a recent interview with Adom News, Isaac Asare, a relative of one of the victims, revealed that his brother was initially transferred to Ridge Hospital but could not be admitted due to bed shortages. He was then redirected to the Police Hospital, where admission was also unavailable.
