The Ghana Police Service has announced a cash reward of GHS 50,000 for any information leading to the arrest of Ibrahim Mohammed, widely known as Commander Kanawu, an alleged supporter of the National Democratic Congress (NDC). ,This comes after the police officially declared him wanted following a viral video in which Kanawu made serious accusations and threats against high-ranking public officials.,In the footage, Commander Kanawu accused some public officials , including Interior Minister Henry Quartey and Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, of falsely recruiting individuals into the police service with the intention of influencing elections. ,His claims raised concerns about the integrity of Ghana’s electoral process and law enforcement recruitment.,Kanawu’s inflammatory statements escalated when he also issued threats against the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission, Jean Mensa, and other officials. ,He threatened to shoot and harm them if they attempt to manipulate the results of the upcoming election. ,Declaring that the election was a matter of “All Die be Die” literally ‘Life and death’,” he dared authorities to arrest him.,Following the circulation of the video, the Ghana Police responded swiftly, issuing an official statement declaring Commander Kanawu wanted for inciting violence and making threats against public officials. ,The police urged the public to cooperate and provide any information that could assist in his arrest.,The police also reassured the public of their commitment to maintaining peace and order ahead of the elections, emphasizing that individuals who incite violence or pose threats to public safety will face the full force of the law.,Authorities are actively working to locate Commander Kanawu, and the GHS 50,000 reward is an incentive for anyone with relevant information to come forward and aid in his apprehension
