A Journey Across Clubs and Nations
Baldock’s football career began in England with MK Dons, where he played alongside his brother, Sam Baldock. He made an impact at various clubs during his career, including Oxford United, Tamworth, and Northampton Town, before eventually moving to Sheffield United in 2017. During his seven-year stint at Bramall Lane, Baldock made 219 appearances, solidifying himself as a key figure in the squad.
His performances were pivotal during Sheffield United’s incredible 2019/20 Premier League season, where they exceeded expectations to finish ninth in the league. Baldock’s contributions earned him recognition as one of the top full-backs in the league, and he featured in 83 Premier League games for the Blades before departing in the summer of 2023.
In search of a new challenge, Baldock moved to Panathinaikos, one of the top football clubs in Greece, during the summer transfer window. He made four appearances for the Greek side, with his last match coming on October 6. Unfortunately, his time with Panathinaikos and in the world of football was cut short far too soon.
International Career with Greece
Although born and raised in England, Baldock qualified to represent Greece through his Greek grandmother. He earned his first call-up to the national team and became a vital part of the squad, making 12 appearances for Greece. His defensive skills and professionalism were highly regarded by teammates and fans alike.
Baldock missed the opportunity to represent Greece in the most recent international window, where they faced England on Thursday. He was also absent from Greece’s matches in September against Finland and Ireland due to injury. Despite his absence, Baldock remained a beloved figure in Greek football, both for his club and country.
