Food Bank services in Ghana have taken a revolutionary turn with the opening of free daily hot meal restaurants in key urban areas, targeting the country’s most vulnerable populations.
These innovative food outlets offer nutritious, freshly prepared meals at no cost, restoring hope and dignity to individuals facing food insecurity.

The initiative is led by successful Ghanaian entrepreneur Richard Nii Armah Quaye, who established the Food Bank to provide support to low-income households, street children, the elderly, and other at-risk groups.

Strategically located in high-density areas like Teshie, Ashaiman, Madina, Odorkor, and Kasoa, each center ensures meals are cooked daily using ingredients sourced from local vendors. This approach not only guarantees freshness and quality but also promotes community empowerment and supports local agriculture.
At the Ashaiman branch, for example, beneficiaries can access meals by collecting a daily ticket from the forecourt of a popular fast-food joint using a valid Ghana Card. A total of 200 tickets are distributed each day by 8 a.m., making the process both orderly and accessible.

Beyond addressing hunger, the Food Bank’s mission is to build a culture of care and compassion across communities. With expansion plans in the pipeline, more Ghanaians are expected to benefit from this impactful social intervention.
