A Ghanaian prophet has sparked nationwide concern and debate after claiming that he received a divine vision in which popular dancehall artist Shatta Wale was fatally shot by unidentified gunmen.

According to the prophet, the vision was vivid and deeply troubling—showing the award-winning musician narrowly escaping an initial ambush only to be later killed by another set of assailants.
The vision, as recounted by the man of God during a church session, depicted Shatta Wale being pursued by ten armed men with clear intent to end his life. Although the artist reportedly managed to escape the first attack, the second part of the vision was more disturbing. Three different armed men were seen launching a surprise attack on Shatta Wale and ultimately shooting him dead.

“Whilst God is telling me to talk to His people through music and give them hope about this life and how beautiful the world is for them to work hard and enjoy the beautiful things HE (GOD) has created, self-acclaimed men of which god, I don’t know, keep brainwashing people looking for trend just to cash out from innocent souls.”
In what many interpret as a spiritual warning to his critics, the “On God” hitmaker added:
“Deh play with Shatta Wale and one day I will show you all the power I have spiritually. Lazy bastards! #PSALMS35 🩸🙏”
His reference to Psalm 35 is telling—commonly read as a prayer for protection against enemies and false accusers. The inclusion of a religious scripture shows Shatta Wale’s belief in divine protection and may also be a coded message to his fans and followers.

Shatta Wale did not end his response with mere words for the prophet. He further urged the Government of Ghana to take necessary steps to regulate and investigate individuals who repeatedly issue death prophecies about celebrities and public figures.
He noted that such statements not only incite fear but can psychologically and emotionally affect both the individual and their families. According to Shatta, these so-called prophetic visions are often more about clout chasing and monetization than spiritual enlightenment.
“It’s high time government steps in. These fake death prophecies should be criminalized. They are playing with people’s lives, careers, and emotions,” he emphasized.
