Political races in local communities often bring massive drama that keeps everyone talking for weeks. When leaders face tough hurdles before polling day, citizens watch closely to see how things will end. A thrilling showdown recently unfolded as political heavyweights clashed for control.
Kwasi Bonzoh proved his political weight by winning the New Patriotic Party Western Regional Secretary position. He faced the incumbent Okatakyie Amankwah Afrifa in a fiercely contested election that drew massive attention. Delegates trusted his leadership capacity and handed him a decisive victory at the polls.
The fierce contest ended with Kwasi Bonzoh gathering two hundred and eleven votes to defeat his main rival. Okatakyie Amankwah Afrifa managed to secure one hundred and fifty seven votes during the exercise. Numbers do not lie when party members decide who steers their administrative affairs forward.
His sweet triumph came after a bumpy start because the vetting committee initially disqualified him from the race. Showing strong resilience, he quickly appealed that ruling and cleared his path back onto the ballot. That smart legal move paved the way for his remarkable political comeback.
Looking ahead toward future battles, the four time former parliamentary candidate set an ambitious target for his team. He wants the party to recapture seven traditional seats lost during previous elections. Winning back those constituencies will require serious hard work from grassroots members everywhere.
He specifically listed areas like Evalue Ajomoro Gwira, Prestea Huni Valley, Sekondi, Tarkwa Nsuaem, Ahanta West, Amenfi West, and Shama as priority targets. Party faithfuls hope his administrative drive will unite everyone and deliver the expected results. Hard work and proper planning remain the best tools for winning political power.
