Political races in northern Ghana always bring intense energy as delegates decide who leads the charge. Party faithfuls gather with high hopes whenever internal congresses kick off in town. Choosing the right hands to steer party machinery requires careful thinking and bold choices.

Abdul Aziz Abdu Rahaman just secured a massive victory by winning the Upper West Regional Chairmanship seat for the New Patriotic Party. He polled one hundred and seventy three votes to defeat his sole contender Kantong Alaska during the heated contest. Delegates at the Wa Technical Institute watched closely as the numbers rolled in from the ballot boxes.

Kantong Alaska managed to pull eighty six votes in an election that set the tone for future political battles. The event experienced a brief hiccup when some delegates from Nandom interrupted the process temporarily. Security and election officers quickly restored calm so that voting could proceed smoothly without further drama.

A complete team of new regional executives also emerged alongside the chairman to pilot party affairs. Majeed Liman won the first vice chairmanship position while Philip Braimah took the second vice role. Dr Tanko Daniel Dauda secured the secretary position to complete the core administrative team.

Other winners include Alhassan Suleman as treasurer and Hamid Saana as the new regional organizer. Dodoo Sadat claimed the youth organizer role while Yussif Alhassan stepped up as assistant secretary. These newly elected leaders face a heavy task as they mobilize supporters ahead of the upcoming general elections.
