Military leaders in Ghana must wake up to modern security challenges because the world is changing very fast. Speaking at the Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College anniversary service, business leader Thomas Svanikier stressed that traditional warfare is no longer the only problem.Modern commanders now face invisible enemies like cyber-attacks, deadly epidemics, and severe natural disasters that strike without warning.

Preparing for these sudden crises means our armed forces cannot rely on old methods alone. Intelligence sharing and strong cooperation with other African countries remain essential for neutralizing cross-border dangers before they cause chaos.Commanders are also advised to drop personal egos, listen to smart ideas from junior officers, and lead with deep humility.

Leadership of the military is a temporary public trust rather than personal property.Officers who begin with the end in mind will always protect the welfare of their personnel and build stronger systems for future generations.Keeping our nation safe requires total vigilance, professional integrity, and smart planning against every unexpected crisis.
