The Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) has clamped down on four major hospitality spots in the Central Region for breaking strict rules. Affected places include the popular Elmina Beach Resort, Savoy Hotel, Veke Executive Lodge, and Wiz Homes.

Management failed to honor standard operating requirements before receiving guests. GTA inspectors discovered that some properties operated without valid licenses while dodging mandatory tourism levies.

Other locations offered extremely poor services alongside substandard visitor rooms. GTA had previously issued multiple warnings to these operators before enforcing the temporary closures.

This sudden swoop arrives just in time to sanitize the system ahead of the upcoming Oguaa Fetu Afahye festival. GTA want to protect unsuspecting travelers from lodging in unsafe environments during the festive season.

Every commercial lodging enterprise must complete proper registration before opening doors to the public.
