Telecommunications giant MTN Ghana has announced that its popular Mobile Money (MoMo) services will be temporarily unavailable on Saturday, August 17, 2025, as part of a scheduled system upgrade.
The suspension is expected to last several hours, during which customers will be unable to send or receive money, pay bills, purchase airtime, or carry out any other MoMo transactions.
According to MTN Ghana, the planned upgrade is part of ongoing efforts to improve the security, speed, and overall performance of its MoMo platform. The company emphasized that this downtime is necessary to ensure that customers enjoy a more reliable and seamless experience in the future.
