A swift joint police operation has led to the arrest of six suspects following a targeted highway robbery along the Gulumpe to Kintampo road corridor. The incident occurred on Sunday, July 19, 2026, when an armed gang ambushed a passenger vehicle carrying a massive sum of money.
According to official police reports, the armed robbers succeeded in stealing over three hundred thousand Ghana cedis from the unsuspecting victim. Fortunately, local patrol teams and counter terrorism units acted fast on intelligence to track down all the fleeing suspects inside nearby bushes.
Investigating officers revealed that the entire robbery was actually an inside job carefully planned by the victim’s own driver. The driver coordinated directly with a middleman to set up his passenger for a sudden ambush on the highway.
