Controversial US-based Ghanaian social media personality, Twene Jonas, has stirred conversation once again by revealing that he still owes MTN’s Qwikloan service and has no intention of paying back the loan.
In one of his latest videos circulating online, Jonas disclosed that the loan he took from the mobile lending service played a significant role in funding his trip to the United States, where he moved to start a new life. He admitted that financial difficulties in Ghana led him to rely on Qwikloan for last-minute expenses before his departure.
“Do you know how much I owed on credit when I left Ghana for the USA? I borrowed money from MTN through Qwikloan for trip expenditures but did not pay it back. I am not ready to repay them,” Twene Jonas stated boldly in the video.
According to Jonas, his decision not to repay the loan stems from the harsh economic conditions that pushed him to leave Ghana in the first place. He emphasized that many Ghanaians are facing similar challenges, and in his view, the country’s financial systems, including loan services like Qwikloan, do not alleviate the situation for the average citizen.
