Visit the Secretariat to Review National Cathedral Audit Report – Dr. Joyce Aryee

Joyce-Aryee

Dr. Joyce Aryee, a member of the National Cathedral’s Board of Trustees, has responded to concerns raised by Ghanaians, particularly North Tongu MP Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, regarding the audit of the National Cathedral project. Ablakwa questioned why the audit conducted by Deloitte has not been made public, suggesting that the Board may have something to hide.

In an interview with Citi News, Dr. Aryee clarified the situation, encouraging anyone interested in reviewing the audit to visit the National Cathedral’s secretariat. She explained that the audit report is available for inspection, and there is no intention to conceal information.

She stated, “The remaining audits are still in process, but if anyone wants to review the current audit, they are welcome to visit the secretariat. There’s nothing to hide. If we had anything to conceal, we wouldn’t openly announce that the audit report is available.”

Dr. Aryee expressed surprise at the public’s intense interest in the Cathedral’s audit but welcomed it, adding, “It’s interesting that Ghanaians are so invested in the Cathedral, even if it’s for the wrong reasons. But it’s good that they care. For example, if I bank with Stanbic and they announce an audit, I can visit them as a customer to verify. Similarly, we’ve made the audit accessible, but not everyone will read it, even if it’s published in the media.”

She concluded by acknowledging that the public scrutiny is understandable, but emphasized that the Board remains transparent about their activities.
