Bishop Bonegas, the founder of the Great Fire Pentecostal Church, explained why he dismissed a church member who offered GH¢500. The woman in question came to his church seeking spiritual help after suffering from a leg ailment that medical treatment could not heal. Bishop Bonegas, believing the issue was spiritually rooted, prayed for her, and her condition improved.
He gave the woman specific spiritual instructions to rent one of her rooms and use the proceeds as a seed offering to protect her from further spiritual attacks. However, instead of following the instruction, she brought GH¢500, which was far less than the GH¢24,000 she earned from renting out a room. Bishop Bonegas saw this as a disobedience to the spiritual directive and dismissed her from his office, stressing that it wasn’t about the money but the act of defiance against the divine instruction.
