Nigerian Gospel Singer, Musician Timileyin Ajayi Confesses to Murdering Girlfriend, Cites Jealousy and Regretless Motives
In a chilling case that has captured national attention, 32-year-old Nigerian gospel musician Timileyin Ajayi has confessed to the gruesome murder of his 24-year-old girlfriend, Salome Adaidu, a youth corps member. Ajayi, who was caught with Salome’s severed head, admitted to the crime during an interrogation by community members. He later revealed that the rest of her body was at his residence.
Ajayi’s crime came to light when he was apprehended by locals, who found the severed head in his possession. Upon questioning, he confessed to the act, claiming jealousy and their inability to spend enough time together as his primary motives.

Speaking in a video aired by Channels Television, Ajayi detailed his actions and the alleged reasons behind them.
“I killed her because we don’t have each other all the time. It wasn’t something I planned; it just happened that day,” Ajayi stated. He also accused Salome of infidelity, alleging he found incriminating chats with other men on her phone.
In a disturbing twist, Ajayi expressed no regret for his actions. “Life is reciprocal,” he said, justifying his crime by suggesting their relationship was marked by mutual incompatibility. “If you must do something to someone, you have to be reciprocal with that person. That is why I don’t have any regrets because we were actually compatible.”

Police Investigation and Legal Proceedings
Ajayi was paraded by authorities along with the alleged murder weapons, including a knife and machetes. He is currently being held at the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the Nasarawa State Police Command in Lafia, the state capital.
