Ghanaian music sensation Black Sherif has opened up about the unexpected inspiration behind the title of his latest 6-track project, Sun Sherif. Speaking during a radio interview on Citi FM’s Brunch in the Citi, the award-winning hitmaker disclosed that the name originally belonged to a fashion project.

Before making his massive global music breakthrough with hits like First Sermon and Kwaku the Traveller, Blacko was actively designing clothes. The creative vision for his personal clothing line eventually found its way into his music studio, giving birth to his newest EP title.

During the live interaction, Black Sherif explained how his passions naturally align. He shared that designing clothing was one of his primary creative outlets long before he started recording full-time in the studio.

Instead of abandoning the brand name, he decided to merge fashion and music into one unified artistic vision. The decision highlights his ongoing evolution as a multi-talented creative who blends sound with visual culture.

The Sun Sherif EP houses six tracks, including Expresso, Jolie, Frontline, Forever featuring AratheJay, and Love Again with Trinidadian duo Full Blown. The artist pointed out that Run Around stands out as his personal favorite on the entire mini-album.

His loyal fanbase across Ghana and the diaspora has warmly embraced the project. Listeners praise how the Konongo native smoothly combines reflective street-hop storytelling with uplifting melodies.

Blacko’s ability to weave personal history into his music continues to set him apart in the global Afrobeats landscape. Taking Sun Sherif from an unreleased clothing collection and turning it into a chart-topping musical release shows his practical brand logic.

As he continues to headline major international stages, fans can expect even more creative cross-overs between his clothing designs and musical releases. Black Sherif remains proof that genuine Ghanaian hustle always finds a way to shine.
