The Ghanaian music scene is witnessing another major transition as celebrated singer and songwriter KiDi has officially confirmed his departure from Lynx Entertainment after years of a successful partnership that helped shape his rise to stardom.
The award-winning artiste made the revelation during a TikTok Live conversation with Code Micky, where he addressed widespread speculation surrounding his current relationship with the label.
According to KiDi, his recently released single “Gymnastic” marked the final project under his contract with Lynx Entertainment, confirming that he is now officially independent. Although the announcement may surprise some fans, many industry observers believe the signs had been visible for some time, especially considering recent developments within the label.
KiDi’s exit also follows the departure of fellow hitmaker Kuami Eugene, who also parted ways with Lynx Entertainment not long ago. In a recent interview on Asempa FM, Kuami Eugene disclosed that contrary to public assumptions, it was the label that initiated the separation process.
He explained that the split happened on good terms and even revealed that Lynx Entertainment organized a farewell party in his honor, suggesting that the label has been handling artist exits in a professional and peaceful manner behind the scenes.
KiDi joined Lynx Entertainment around 2016 after gaining national attention through the popular music reality competition MTN Hitmaker. Over the years, he transformed from a rising talent into one of Ghana’s biggest music exports.
With hit songs such as “Odo,” “Enjoyment,” “Say Cheese,” and the globally successful “Touch It,” KiDi consistently dominated charts and built a strong fanbase across Africa and beyond. His albums, including Sugar and The Golden Boy, further established him as one of the leading voices in Afrobeats and highlife music.
During his time at Lynx Entertainment, KiDi achieved remarkable success, winning several awards, including the coveted Artiste of the Year title at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards. He also earned international recognition through streaming success, collaborations, and performances on global stages.
His departure now raises questions about the future direction of both KiDi’s career and Lynx Entertainment itself, especially as some of the label’s biggest stars continue to move on. Fans will now be watching closely to see what the next chapter holds for the singer as he steps into a new phase of his musical journey.
