The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), Accra West Region, has announced a temporary power outage affecting several communities in Accra following a fire outbreak in the North Industrial Area.
In a public notice issued on Thursday, October 1, 2026, ECG explained that the outage was caused by a raging fire near its Substation D at Avenor.
Areas Affected by the Power Outage
According to ECG, the affected areas include North Industrial Area, North Kaneshie, Tesano, Abeka Junction, Peace FM, Santana Market, Alajo Junction and surrounding communities.
The power disruption has affected customers in these areas as the company works to address the situation.
ECG Engineers Monitoring the Situation
ECG has assured customers that its engineers are closely monitoring the situation and will restore electricity once it is safe to do so.
The company has also apologised for the inconvenience caused by the temporary power interruption.
Residents and businesses in the affected communities are encouraged to remain patient while engineers work to resolve the issue.
ECG has not provided a specific time for the restoration of power. Customers are therefore advised to follow the company’s official communication channels for further updates.
